Snacks and the City- Bold Bites in San Francisco

There is nothing my family loves more than spending the day in San Francisco.
Although we live close,
it always feels like a getaway and the perfect way to recharge.
We love the breathtaking scenery, vibrant colors,
classic landmarks and unique neighborhoods.
Everyone has a different favorite spot, so often we zip all over the city.
I have learned from experience that nothing ruins a fun day away like hungry travelers.
Good food feeds good times and that's why I have Foster Farms Bold Bites on hand.
They are a shareable, flavorful, protein packed snack
that is perfect to grab and go to the Golden Gate!

I don't think it was a coincidence that our first stop and snack are color coordinated!
International Orange is a bold color for a bridge and a bite...

We packed pouches for all of the Painted Ladies,
fittingly vibrant for the historic Victorians...

and some cheerful chicken for the one feeling blue...

Parmesan was perfect for our perch to view the Pyramid ...

We definitely needed extra power to climb up to Coit Tower...

Noble nibbles for our picnic at the Palace...

Not only are Foster Farms Bold Bites perfect for day in the city because they are delicious, quick and convenient, but their chicken grows bountifully and beautifully under the warm California sun.
It is raised responsibly by local farmers. Foster Farms is looking to redefine the snacking standard.  Bold Bites do not include any artificial colors,
flavors, nitrates or nitrites and come in 5 amazing and unique flavors.
They are available in various retailers across the West Coast such as Safeway and Target.
Foster Farms makes it easy to Be Bold Anywhere!

Thank you to Foster Farms for sponsoring this post and elevating snacking in such a delicious and convenient way.

Keeping my exercise routine fun and fresh

For me, exercise has to be inspiring.
I tend to get bored easily so I need to think of it as a treat.
I love to plan activities with amazing views, like my favorite
Land's End Trail in San Francisco...

or transport myself to a magical place and hike in
Muir Woods with my son...

Not only is it good for the body but amazing to clear your mind.
Besides my trusty water bottle, I always have a pack of Orbit® gum with me.
I've found that not only is it a nice treat,
but when your mouth feels clean and fresh you can really make the most of the moment.

With amazing flavors such as, Spearmint, Peppermint, Wintermint, Bubblemint,
Strawberry, Citrus, Sweet Mint and Orbit White, there is always something new.
Orbit® sugarfree gum has only 5-10 calories per serving
and can help keep your wellness goals on track, not only while being active,
but by minimizing mindless snacking throughout the day.
Perfect for a run on the beach...

power walking in the city...

or a vigorous stroll with friends to The Golden Gate Bridge.
Orbit®  helps to keep it lively and exciting.

Some days it is as simple as walking to the shopping center, art museum or
farmers' market instead of driving.  I make the destination a rewarding experience.

I may treat myself to a candle at the mall, a new exhibit at the museum or
unique produce that I've never tried at the farmers' market.

Keeping it fresh, fun and interesting,
is the best way to #ChewToABetterYou!

San Francisco Celebrates Hamilton!

San Francisco is known for many things...
Cable Cars, the Golden Gate, Sourdough Bread and now HAMILTON.
Everyone's favorite musical has taken the city by storm and it's time to celebrate.

Playbill cupcake toppers take center stage in any Hamilton celebration...

and they are much easier to get than tickets!
They're in my Etsy Shop.

Postcards from home - best views of the Golden Gate

Thank you to Coca-Cola for sponsoring this post.  All opinions and content are my own. #IworkwithCoke

It is no secret that my family loves where we live.
We are less than an hour south of San Francisco,
and we take advantage of the city whenever we can.
Our getaways to this city, where we left our hearts, could be for just a few hours or overnight.
Great restaurants, exciting sporting events, inspiring museums, dynamic concerts...
San Francisco has it all,
but there is one thing that leaves me breathless every time we venture north -
The Golden Gate Bridge!
This vibrant, majestic icon gives me a feeling of hometown pride every time I see it.

Our latest San Francisco adventure was all about the bridge.
During a fun lunch at Red Robin, on our drive up to the city ,we plotted our course.
Armed with their infamous Onion Rings and lots of Gold Peak Tea,
we debated on the best ways to see the Golden Gate.

We started in the Marina, at Crissy Field...

If you look to the right, you'll see Alcatraz...
I highly recommend doing a tour of "The Rock",
it is fascinating and the views of the city are incredible.

Look behind you and you'll see the Presidio...
It is one of the nation's oldest and most beautiful military posts.
The stately buildings now host cultural gems
such as the Officers' Club, Walt Disney Family Museum
and George Lucas's Industrial Lights and Magic.
The grounds have fog-shrouded forests, beautiful fields
and even weekly Food Truck festivals all with amazing views of the bridge.

But one of my favorite ways to enjoy the bay is strolling
the Crissy Field path on to Fort Point.
Summers in San Francisco can be colder than the winter,
so often a quick stop at
The Warming Hut is mandatory.
It is full of treats and gifts and a welcome cozy atmosphere along the way...

In typical Bay Area style, you never quite know what you will see.
For some, it is still the summer of peace and love in a festive VW Bus...

Before you know it,
you are at the base of the bridge.
As you look toward Marin, the bay is on your right and the mighty Pacific Ocean to your left.

No trip to Fort Point is complete with out touching Hopper's Hands.
Legend has it that a GGB iron worker named Hopper,
noticed that visitors were ritually tapping the fence as they turned around.
He made the infamous sign so everyone could slap the hand as they reached the end of the trail.
(and I am convinced it is good luck!)

There is nothing better than refueling your mind and spirit with a day on the bay.
Afterward, we relaxed on the Crissy Field Beach, took in the view and sipped on Gold Peak Tea.
It's home brewed taste is crisp, refreshing and comforting just like the city we love.

Enjoying life's simple pleasures is what it's all about...

and finding those special "golden" moments with family and friends is priceless.

Opening Day Baseball Lunch

There is nothing my son would like more than for someone to
take him out to the ball game on Opening Day!
But since he'll be at school,
I've got the next best thing, a ball park inspired lunch.
