Halloween Hostess Gift - Who you gonna call?...

We have been going to our friends' house on Halloween night for the last 12 years.
It is a barrage of
children, candy, chili, corn bread and dare I say a few Coors Lights.
I always bring them something fun to thank them for letting us destroy their beautiful home.
So who ya gonna call to scare away the ghoulish mess...
Ghost Dusters!

A Monster-ous Salad with Boo-Cheese

A scary salad just in time for Halloween.
The Wicked Wedge
is ready in minutes and a crowd pleaser for my hungry Trick or Treaters.

It's not easy being green...
are the perfect pop of color for avocado monsters.

They are fun to play with and even better to eat,
California Ripe Olives are a pantry and food art staple.

They even make the ghostly boo-cheese come to "life"
(along with peppercorn eyeballs)

So don't be afraid this Halloween,
grab some lettuce, avocados, chives, blue cheese, peppercorns
and California Ripe Olives and make it a spook-tacluar dinner!

Beware of the Bam-BOO - Halloween Centerpiece

Halloween is absolutely one of my FAVORITE holidays and to celebrate I pulled together the creative minds of some of my talented blogging friends to bring you over 110 fabulous Halloween ideas.
From costumes to parties, crafts and home decor, recipes and free printables, we have so many fun ideas to share.

I am scaring up a spooky centerpiece for Halloween...

A gang of ghosts has invaded my plants...
turning them into bamBOO...

You can easily bamBOOzle some too...

You will need:
bamboo shoots
(I got mine at Ikea but Trader Joe's usually has them or your local nursery)
cheese cloth
fishing line
small pom poms
large needle
fine point black sharpie

Make a Casper-esq face on the pom pom with your Sharpie...

cover face with square piece of cheese cloth
(mine was approx 3 1/2" square)

Cut a piece of fishing line,
thread it through your needle and make a knot at the end of the line.
Pierce needle through bottom of pom pom and poke through the top,
pull until knot is at bottom of pom pom.

If necessary, embellish eyes and mouth so it can be seen through cloth.

Tie onto your bamboo and wait for the BOO-gyman on Halloween.

But the fun ideas don't stop here.

Franks and Screams - DIY Halloween Candles

An easy way to scare up some Halloween Fun...

Inexpensive votive candles (mine are from Ikea),
 are instantly transformed into
spooky spirits and frightening Frankenstiens with a black paint pen.

All you have to do is draw on
(after every few strokes, I clear any wax off the pen by scribbling on a piece of scrap paper)

Franks and Screams -
aren't they the perfect Halloween couple?
