My favorite graduation gifts

This is a big graduation season for us.

My daughter is graduation from high school

Crafts to "Hoop it Up" for March Madness!

March Madness is almost here 

and I've got 3 easy crafts that will make anyone the MVP of the season.

A quick spin to the craft store is the key...

Every rookie knows you can never double dribble.

A simple painted cork trivet will be the best defense, 

just in case...

You will need:

Cork Coasters 

(mine is 6" in diameter but most craft stores have a variety of sizes)

Multi Surface Acrylic Paint in orange and black

paint brushes

Paint...

then add detail in black,

let dry a few hours...

and your drips and dribbles will never go out of bounds.

When the ball is in your court to decorate the table or bring a hostess gift, 

candles are always a slam dunk.

Orange votive candles

(these are from Ikea but you can find them everywhere)

swish perfectly into paint pen nets...

draw a series of white Xs around the perimeter of the candle 

and add the rim in black at the top

Basketball is the perfect excuse for a new pair of Hoop Earrings...

A fast break to the jewelry supply aisle for the dream team of 

ear hoops and orange gems...

Franks and Screams - DIY Halloween Candles

An easy way to scare up some Halloween Fun...

Inexpensive votive candles (mine are from Ikea),

 are instantly transformed into 

spooky spirits and frightening Frankenstiens with a black paint pen.

All you have to do is draw on

(after every few strokes, I clear any wax off the pen by scribbling on a piece of scrap paper)

Simple and Sweet Birthday Centerpiece for any age

We are gearing up for "birthday season" around here.

My go-to centerpiece makes everyone feel special...

Glass-jar candles filled with sprinkles, displayed on a cake plate...

then topped with a special candle...

(those numbered candles on a dowel, and I stick them right into the wax)

My birthday isn't for months, but don't ask my number...

it isn't polite!

It is fine to light the candles, 

just slightly move the sprinkles away from the wick so they don't smother the flame.
