Sage on Stage! 5 fun ways to use Fall's Favorite Herb

It's that time of year when sage has it's moment on stage.
It seems to be forgotten most of the year but I think sage is all the rage
and I've got 5 unique ways to use it...

 1. Floral Arrangements

I think sage is one of the prettiest herbs.
It's lush green leaves and a slightly fuzzy texture
add a lovely, whimsical touch to holiday centerpieces.
I love pairing it with chamomile flowers for some casual, rustic charm...

and it is a great hostess gift.

2. Soup Topper

Fried sage makes an amazing soup topper.
Place leaves in a small skillet with hot olive oil, flip after a few seconds then remove,
place on paper towel and sprinkle with course salt....

The floating foliage if flavorful and fun...

3. Beautiful Biscuits

Give your biscuits a vibrant accessory for the season.
A touch of sage might upstage the rest of the meal...

Before baking store bought biscuits,
top with butter...

place a leaf on top...

and just out of the oven, they are a work of art!

4. Garlic Sage Buttered Popcorn

Holiday movie night will never be the same after you serve this savory snack.

Melt a stick of butter over medium heat,
add a grated clove of garlic and 1/4 cup of finely chopped sage leaves.
Stir to combine and cook about 30 seconds.
Pour over a big bowl of popped corn, toss to coat and enjoy the show...

5. Turkey Feathers

It's no coincidence that sage leaves also make the best turkey feathers...

Instantly turn sausage and waffles into the ultimate Thanksgiving breakfast sensation...
Turkey and Waffles.

Don't be afraid to engage with sage!

Pumpkin Spice Care Package

My daughter doesn't care for clichés.
Anything to is overexposed and trendy is not her cup of tea.
I love to tease her about it,
so since we are in the heart of Pumpkin Spice Season,
I thought this would be the perfect theme for her latest
college care package...

I often call her pumpkin so this mug
was a fitting way for her to start the day...

She is a popcorn fanatic and I had to include
this new flavor of Angie's BOOMCHICKAPOP

Space in her dorm room is tight and a teeny, tiny felted wool pumpkin is cute and cozy anywhere...

Adding to the spice in this package are her favorite Sriracha Almonds...

and who could resist dark chocolate?

Pumpkin Spice season also means a change in the weather.
A few essentials for dry hands and cold ears...

Although she may not love the overexposure of PSL season,
I know she loves the smells of the holidays.

I couldn't resist putting in a little Fall Fun Money...
after all, maybe she'll buy a Pumpkin Spice Latte??

Off to College Movie Night

Summer is in the home stretch
and in a few short weeks my daughter will be off to college.
So instead of totally freaking out, I do what I do best - throw a party.
It's time for a
College Movie Night!

A simple and special night that will hopefully be "educational"...

They'll learn what to do when you're the underdog...

if you're the smartest student in the room...

how to handle those frat boys...

and that love means never having to say you're sorry...

Of course any movie night must have popcorn.

Angie's BOOMCHICKAPOP will be giving new meaning to
CHICKa-Flicks!

Especially in college,
remembering that the best way to get out there and crush it every day,
is by having a better-for-you snack with real, simple ingredients.
(and they'll learn the valuable lesson that amazing, colorful packaging is always a home run)

and find out more about Angie's BOOMCHICKAPOP here

Thank you to Angie's BOOMCHICKAPOP for supplying your amazing popcorn. Shop Back to College at Target.com!

My 5 favorite foods from the Target Market

Target has managed to make shopping for everyday merchandise so much fun.
Toiletries, clothes, cleaning supplies and food have miraculously become a joy to behold.
Cruising up and down their grocery aisles has become one of my most anticipated activities.
There seem to be hidden treasures everywhere.
Smaller companies, some family run, some with a charitable purpose,
but all with a mission to make delicious food in a reimagined, interesting way with great packaging.
Here are 5 of my favorites.

Hak's BBQ Sauces, especially the Smoked Maple Mustard.
Magically turns everyday chicken into a show stopper.

Marvelous as a marinate but in our house it has become our favorite dip for artichokes.

Oh Snap! Pickles.  Everything they make is DILL-cious
(not only pickled cucumbers but green beans and carrots!).
I love how they are in small packages, my kids take them in their lunch
and they are perfect for picnics, tailgates or anytime you are on the go.
Hottie Bites will kick your sandwiches, burgers and sausages up a notch or two...

Ramen is alway in our pantry.
Lotus Foods Rice Ramen, traditional Japanese-style noodles made from their specialty rice instead of wheat, in a savory white miso broth.  It is delicious, ready in minutes and it's so fun to eat green noodles!

Quinn Popcorn has reinvented microwave popcorn. Their "farm to bag" approach really comes through in the popcorn's taste.  You would never know it is microwave popcorn!  Each of their corn growers is proudly displayed on their website.
They had me at real butter & sea salt but equally as amazing
are Vermont Maple Kettle Corn and Parmesan Rosemary.
And they are from Boulder, Colorado... my favorite college town and home to my alma mater.
Go Buffs!
