It's black and white - Everyone loves Succulent Party Favors

My party philosophy is simple.

Have personal, unique touches to make it special 

and always have your friends leave with a memento to remember the event.

I recently helped with an 80th birthday lunch where

the guest of honor is a straight shooter who loves black and white.

I created sweet succulent favors topped with a poignant quotes...

Some perfectly captured the theme...

some were sentimental...

some reflected the birthday girl's Irish roots...

and some were wise words from the world of Winnie the Pooh...

All to honor one great lady...

They could not have been easier to put together.

I got 2.5" potted succulents from a local nursery...

Since I knew I'd be using black and white ribbon,
I was looking for plants already in black pots.

I cut the ribbon to fit around the pot...

and just hot glued it on...

gave the ribbon a snip...

and they were ready to be "quoted"...

Soon we had a platoon of polka dot plants ready to party!

Chinese New Year Favors - Good Luck and Fortune

I don't know exactly what it is about Chinese New Year that makes me so happy.

Maybe the colors, maybe the animals, maybe the overall feeling of optimism...

We are celebrating this year with a few tokens of 

Luck and Good Fortune.

I mean really, what better way to ring in the rooster 

than chocolate covered fortune cookies and lottery tickets?

Family Reunion Fun, Who do you think you are?

This fun family reunion, 

 is ALL about family names and is taking place around a big old tree.

There will not be one guest who will leave not knowing exactly who they are!

The surnames of Costello and Sullivan descendants 

were compiled into a collage, enlarged and are the party centerpiece. 

Since the apple does not fall far from the tree,

the names of the youngest cousins,

 decorated a treat for the kids to take home...
