When you're a Murphy...St. Patrick's Day Corned Beef & Cabbage

Oh, the things you have to do,
 on St. Patrick's Day,
when your last name is Murphy...
My husband wouldn't think of letting the 17th go by without
Corned Beef and Cabbage.

This year we are putting a twist on it by making it an appetizer.

Shaved corned beef from our local deli
 a rich, grainy mustard
cocktail size pumpernickel bread
cabbage clovers

to make the clovers:
slip a clean, heart paper punch onto
the top, thinner portion of a cabbage leaf and

three hearts, a parsley stem
(or chive would be great too)
and you're set...

Pinch me, I can't believe it is already March!

  1. YOU are brilliant!!! This is the cutest thing for St Paddy's Day! I may be just a smidge Irish, but that doesn't keep me from celebrating as if we're the McMoyers!

    I'll have to try this!
    xoxo Elizabeth

  2. How clever to punch the cabbage leaves! Stopping by from Homemade Ginger Party. Carrie, A Mother's Shadow

  3. This is so stinking cute! I love that you took the time to punch out cabbage.

  4. We love corned beef and cabbage too, your appetizers look like fun, love the idea of using a punch to cut out cabbage clovers, how fun! I just started a new link-up, Meal Planning Monday Recipe Link-Up and would love to invite you to share your recipe at my linky party. :) http://www.aprilshomemaking.com/2014/03/meal-planning-monday-recipe-link-up.html

  5. Thank you so much for linking up to my Say G'day Saturday post. I'm so thrilled you joined in and I just pinned this brilliant idea!

Hope you can join in with this week's party which has just started!
