Anchors Away - Sumer Sea Salt Soaps

Oh Summer...
long days of sun, surf and sand.
What better way to clean up than with Sea Salt Soap?!

I just made a boat-load of anchor soaps for all the summer sailors I know.
Creamy and cute, with just a touch of salt to exfoliate and
perfect for last minute hostess gifts.

They are so easy to make.
In a microwave-safe bowl
(preferably with a spout - I use a glass gravy boat)
put in 2 to 3 cubes of Shea Butter Soap
(available at craft stores like Michael's) and 1 teaspoon of sea salt.
Melt in microwave in 10 second intervals, stirring after each until soap has melted.
(should take about 30 seconds total)

Then pour into anchor molds...

and add blue soap colorant for some nautical fun...

Is it me, or do they look like they're smiling?

Anchors Away!

I got my molds at Paper Source but the Sunnylife website is here.

Pure Love - DIY Valentine's Soaps

Squeaky clean fun, for your sweetie pie...

it's cute and smells good, give soap making a try.

Packaged in a dish with a silly little tag,
it's a fun way to give out the Valentine's swag...

To make them I used:
Shea Butter Soap
(available at Michael's)
Dried Cherries
(for a little texture and color)
Essential Oil of your choice
(mine was Fresh Linen from Michael's)
Heat tolerant mold-sprayed with Pam
(heart tray pictured is an Ikea ice cube tray)

To fill the 16 small molds,
In a glass gravy boat (for easy pouring) I melted 8 of the Shea Butter Soap cubes
in the microwave for 1 minute, stirring after 30 seconds.
Once soap is completely melted,
stir in a handful of chopped dried cherries and a few drops of essential oil.
Then pour and wait about 45 minutes to an hour to remove.

Keep it Clean this Valentine's Day!

They are docked in our guest bathroom
and have been sailing away as lots of summer gifts...

They are so easy to make.

Popsicle Party - Clean Summer Fun

Popsicles are the epitome of Summertime fun.

We are making the sticky mess they can leave behind
a little more fun
with mini-popsicle soaps.
They are as fun to make as they are to use.

Some simple supplies from the craft store
(I got everything at Michael's)
and a few spare minutes are all you need...

They look good enough to eat...

but I am sure you're well behaved
and don't need your mouth washed out with soap!

Mini-Popsicle Soaps
(this will make 4 at a time)
2 - one oz cubes of clear glycerine soap base
soap colorants
silicone mini-popsicle molds

In a microwave safe container (preferably one that is easy to pour out of - I use a gravy boat) melt 2 - one ounce squares of the soap for approx 20 seconds in microwave.
Add drops of coloring and stir until desired color is reached
Pour into molds and let harden at least 20 minutes.

Carrot Soap - Easy Easter DIY

The perfect Easter craft to make for all your Peeps.
Super simple with just 3 ingredients -
make a big batch of
Carrot Soap!

All you need is:
Shea Butter Soap
(it usually comes in a "brick" that is easy to divide)
and Scented Oils from the Craft Store
& grated carrots.
The carrots add a fun texture and fabulous natural color.

To make 3 small bunny soaps,
place a 1oz cube of the soap and 2 tablespoons of grated carrot
in a microwave safe container
(preferably one that is easy to pour out of - I use a glass gravy boat)

Then add a few drops of your favorite scented oil
(this is optional, I just love to make them smell good)

Melt in microwave for approximately 30 seconds and give it a quick stir,
then pour into silicon molds.

Repeat steps until your bunnies have multiplied to your liking...

Let set about an hour, in a cool environment,
until you can easily pop them out.

Since the carrots are fresh,
use within 2 weeks.

Clean bunnies are the best,
Happy Easter!
