It's no secret that I love living in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The city, the views, the restaurants, the weather, our sports teams.
I have always been proud of where we live,
but November 15, 2013 took it to a whole new level.
It was the day "caring and compassion won",
the day everyone was good,
the day I couldn't stop crying watching the cheering crowds in the streets,
the day that everyone stopped to witness
Batkid saving our Gotham…

With all the buzz beforehand I knew it was going to be a special day.
Five year old Miles Scott, fought leukemia and won.
His one wish was to be Batkid and thanks to so many people behind the scenes,
especially the Make-A-Wish-Greater Bay Area, he did it.
As it all unfolded,
I was glued to the television and social media.
I was touched and amazed by the footage.

and his sweet, innocent yet, determined face.
The San Francisco Police with Batkid stickers on their vehicles,
local politicians, sports stars, celebrities and even The President getting involved.
People filled the streets, poured out of office buildings, took their kids out of school...
all to cheer on a brave little boy and witness his dream come true.

I was a wreck.
I was watching it live on TV, laughing, crying, tweeting, Instagramming, checking Facebook…
most of all I was filled with happiness, pride and so thankful that for one day,
the good guy won and it all happened in the city I love.

How did this story capture the imagination and hearts of San Francisco and the world?
The exciting documentary, Batkid Begins focuses on the “why” and the “how” of this amazing event.
To make Batkid Begins worthy of its superhero namesake, KTF Films is teaming up with big-name musicians, animators, and visual effects professionals, all working at reduced rates in the name of Batkid, and bringing the post-production price tag to $100,000.
An IndieGogo campaign has been set up to help raise funds to support the documentary.

The Batkid phenomenon will be well represented at
Comic-Con in San Diego July 27th.
