Losing My Marbles and loving my Home

There are days when I feel like I'm losing my marbles, but I have to admit it's fun.

At any given moment, 

my house could be filled with, well -

Marbles...

Confetti and Streamers...

Fresh Cut Flowers...

or Hot, Fresh Baked Goods

It is also full of lovable messes like;

 quickly getting ready for spontaneous dinner guests,

breakfasts thrown together on the fly, kids raiding the fridge, 

homework sessions spread out all over the counter and

midnight snacks.

I have made a "pledge to myself" the way to live life and entertain is to just enjoy it all.

I definitely don't want to worry about cleaning up.

Our favorite marble prep station seems to be the hub of all activity.

The best way quickly and effortlessly get my marble back to its natural beauty is

Pledge Lemon Clean.

It leaves it refreshed, revived and revitalized by gently cleaning our toughest messes.

Slight marble scuffs disappear, dirt and remains from cut flowers wiped away, 

fly-away confetti demolished and powdered sugar sweetly swept up.  

My marble is instantly back to it's pristine self, 

and the classic lemon fragrance just makes me happy...

and so does the lovable mess of my home!

Lemon Glazed Donuts

Why is it that everyone always congregates in the kitchen?

Maybe it's because a fresh batch of Lemon Glazed Donuts 

just came out of the oven!

These citrusy, sweet bites of goodness are ready in minutes...

and seem to be gone before the glaze sets...

Lemon Glazed Donuts

Makes about 3 dozen donuts

Special Tool: non-stick Donut Pan

Lemon Donut ingredients:

(you can easily used a packaged Lemon Cake Mix also)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and coat Donut Pan with non-stick spray

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

2 1/4 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

4 eggs

2 cups sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbs lemon zest

2 tbs + 2 tsp lemon juice

1 1/4 cups whole milk

10 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed

Lemon Glaze:

2 cups powdered sugar

1/4 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice

mix or whisk ingredients then drizzle over warm donuts below

Lemon Zest for topping

For Donuts:

Mix flour, baking powder and salt in a small bowl and set aside. In large bowl, beat eggs and sugar then mix in vanilla, lemon juice and lemon zest.  Slowly pour in dry ingredients and mix on low until combined.

In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter until butter is just melted, being careful not to let milk boil. Then mix into batter.  Pour into prepared Donut Pan.  You want to only fill the donut molds about half  way.  Cook approximately 10 to 12 minutes.  Remove from oven and after a few minutes gently lift donuts out of pan and place on rack.  Drizzle glaze over while still warm then top with lemon zest.
