Fiesta Favors!

These simple and sweet
Fiesta Favors
combine my two favorite colorful south of the border icons -
paper flowers and Chiclets gum...

The mini paper flowers are easy and fun to make.
I used a 2 inch scalloped punch to make the petals.
Just make sure you punch through a stack of tissue paper
(about 7-9 sheets thick) for best cut.

I like to have a big, bright assortment to work with...

Then pick 7 or 8 for your flower...

add a drop of hot glue to the first petal,
then stack on, adding a drop of glue to the center of each layer...

Let glue dry and cool,
and starting with the top petal,
crinkle and "fluff" until you have your gorgeous flower.

In a few minutes you will have this...

throw in a few Chiclets...

and you have a reason to throw a
Fiesta!

Chiclets Cupcakes for Quatro de Mayo

The running joke in our family
is that my husband and his brother like to celebrate
Cinco de Mayo early.
Their holiday is Quatro de Mayo.
