Happy Warhol-loween!

Oh, the times they are a-changin'...

In the old days, as soon as October 1st hit,
my kids were begging to get out the boxes of Halloween decorations.
Well, today is October 23rd,
and no one has said a word :(

Part of me is glad that I won't have all the "stuff" to put away on November 1st,
but I am also sad that they are getting older.

In an attempt to get my 'tween and teen into the spirit,
we did a little crafting over the weekend.

Our first project...
an Andy Warhol inspired Halloween masterpiece

Jack will spray paint anything so he thought this was pretty "cool"...

Carolyn loved the colors and how shiny they were...

Sorry I don't have any pictures of the process.
Evidently, it is horrifying when you are 12 and 13,
to have your picture taken and on your mother's blog.

We spray painted mini pumpkins,
painted an 11x14 inch canvas,
put washi tape in between the color panels,
then glue gunned the pumpkins to the canvas!

Happy Warhol-loween!

  1. My 11 and 14 year old count the number of times they're featured on my blog, and let me know if the score is not even! :)
    Cute project.

  4. Warhol-ful idea for keeping the kids into the Halloween spirit and teaching them about artists.
