The USA Tray... Celebrate American Food on Inauguration Day

Inauguration Day is also my husband's birthday.
It's typically a day filled with traditions, patriotism
and the hopes for a prosperous 4 years.
As we celebrate him,
we are also going to watch all of the festivities and enjoy all things American.
The different foods that make every region unique,
together makes us great.

Wisconsin cheddar, Michigan Blueberries
and a nod to the infamous Chicago Hot Dog...

Corn Salsa made from golden kernels from the Hawkeye State...

A combo of 2 of New York's finest...
the pretzel bagel.
I sliced them thin and baked in the oven to make chips.

Sun-ripened Florida oranges, golden southern peach salsa
 and Georgia peanuts...

we had to stop and smell the Texas yellow roses...

things are spicy in New Mexico,,,

Fruity and cheesy in California...

bright in Oregon with veggies and my favorite blue cheese...

and delicious in Washington...

America the Beautiful - Olympic Watermelon Pops

In just a few short weeks the chants of
USA, USA will be filling the Olympic air.
It's an exciting time of thrilling competition and patriotic pride.
What better way to celebrate our country, while watching the games, than with
USA Watermelon Ice Pops?!?

They are easy to make and as fun to wave as Old Glory...

Use cookie cutters on thick sliced watermelon...

and insert popsicle stick.
Sprinkle with lemon juice and a touch a salt for added zest,
or leave unseasoned and place in freezer for at least 2 hours.

America the Beautiful, indeed!
